Privacy Policy ​

This policy covers everything Simplescraper runs: the website at simplescraper.io, the Chrome extension, the API and the MCP server. It says what we collect, why we collect it, who else sees it and how to delete it.

The short version ​

  • We collect what Simplescraper needs to work: your account, the recipes you save and the results of the scrapes you run in the cloud.
  • We never sell your data, never use it for advertising and never look at it except to help you, keep the service secure or meet the law.
  • Data you scrape with the Chrome extension stays in your browser.
  • Ask us, and we delete your account and everything in it within 30 days.

Your account ​

When you create an account, we store your email address, your plan and your credit balance. If you sign in with Google, we also receive your name and profile photo, and nothing else from your Google account.

Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication, part of Google Cloud, and passwords are never stored in plain text. Payments are handled by Stripe, and we never see your card number.

The Chrome extension ​

The extension works on the page you open it on, while you use it, and it has no analytics or trackers. The data you scrape, your run history and your settings stay in your browser, and removing the extension deletes them.

A few things reach our servers:

  • AI features: to find the list on a page and name its columns, the extension sends a small sample of the page, such as its title and a few example items. It never sends the page's address.
  • Your account: when you are signed in, each run is recorded so your credits add up, and recipes you save are stored so they can run again. If you add a site's cookies to a recipe, they are stored with that recipe and used only to run it.

The extension asks Chrome for access to other sites only when a run needs to move across pages, and you can remove that access in Chrome's extension settings.

Scraping in the cloud and the API ​

When a recipe runs from the dashboard, the API or the MCP server, our servers open the page for you and store the results in your account. Results go only where you send them, such as a download or an integration you connect. We keep results for a limited time, described in Data retention, and you can delete them at any time.

AI providers ​

Some features use AI models from trusted providers to understand pages and organise data. They receive only the text a task needs, never your account details. They use it only to answer the request and never to train their models, and we use zero data retention wherever a provider offers it.

Other services we use ​

  • Google Cloud and Firebase: hosting, database and sign-in.
  • Stripe: payments.
  • Mailjet: account and run emails.
  • Google Analytics: on the website only, to see how people find and use it. The extension does not use it.

Each service receives only what it needs to do its job.

Cookies on our website ​

The website uses cookies to keep you signed in and for Google Analytics.

What we never do ​

  • Sell or rent your data.
  • Use it for advertising, or pass it to data brokers.
  • Use it to decide credit-worthiness or for lending.
  • Read your scraped data, recipes or cookies, unless you ask us for help, it is needed to keep the service secure, or the law requires it.

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Security ​

Data travels over encrypted connections and is stored on Google Cloud, which encrypts it at rest. We check where sign-ups and signed-out requests come from, to stop abuse.

Deleting your data ​

Ask us, and we delete your account, recipes, results and run records within 30 days. Data in the extension lives in your browser, and removing the extension deletes it.

You can also ask to see, correct or export your data.

Children ​

Simplescraper is not intended for children under 13, or under the minimum age for consent where you live.

Changes to this policy ​

When this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
