Google search results

The 'Google search results' recipe saves Google's results for any search term as rows you can run, schedule and export like any other recipe. To find it, choose 'Templates' on the dashboard's Home page and click 'Browse templates'; it is the first card.

  1. Enter a 'Search term'.
  2. Set 'Pages', from 1 to 10. Each page is ten results.
  3. Pick a 'Country' to search from (United States unless you choose another) and a 'Date range' (any time unless you choose another).
  4. Click 'Save and run', or 'Save recipe' to run it later.

Each run returns one row per result, with these columns:

  • position: the result's rank, counted from 1 across every page without gaps.
  • page: the Google page the result came from.
  • title: the result's title.
  • url: the result's address.
  • snippet: the text Google shows under the title, when it shows some.
  • date: the date Google shows beside the result, when it shows one.

A run costs 2 credits per Google page fetched, so a 3-page search costs 6 credits. A page that fails is not charged, and the run's rows keep every page that worked.

To run the same search from code, with the answer box, knowledge graph, 'People also ask' and related searches as well, use the Google Search API.
