Intro to Browser Scraping

Browser scraping runs directly in your browser via the Simplescraper extension. Results appear in seconds, right in the side panel.

This is the fastest way to scrape - select your data, click scrape, and export. No waiting for cloud servers, no credits used for single pages.

What you can do with browser scraping

• Instant results - data appears in seconds as you scrape
• Scrape behind a login - use your existing browser session to access protected content
• Multi-page scraping - paginate through results or scroll infinite feeds
• Export immediately - download CSV, JSON, or copy to clipboard
• Save recipes - save your scraping pattern to run again later (in browser, cloud, or via API)

Getting started

1. Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store
2. Navigate to the page you want to scrape
3. Click the Simplescraper extension icon to open the side panel
4. Select your data and click "Start Scraping"

When to use browser scraping

Browser scraping is ideal when you need:

• Speed - results appear instantly, no waiting for cloud processing
• Logged-in access - scrape content behind a login using your active session
• Hands-on control - watch the scrape happen and adjust as needed
• One-off exports - grab the data and move on without saving a recipe

For scheduled automation, large-scale scraping, or background operation, cloud scraping is a better fit.
