AI field naming ​

When Simplescraper selects a list, it names each field from the page's code, so columns can arrive with names like sc-1x2y3z. 'AI rename' reads the values in each field and names it for what it holds, such as job_title or price, so your spreadsheet arrives with headings you can use.

Rename fields with AI ​

  1. In the 'Fields' step, click '✨ AI rename'.
  2. Review the list under 'Suggested names'. Each row shows the current name and the suggestion; untick any name you want to keep.
  3. Click 'Apply'. A message confirms 'Renamed N fields'; click 'Undo' to put the old names back.

'AI rename' also suggests a name for the recipe, and it uses no credits.

Name or remove fields yourself ​

  • Type a name: click any field name and type over it. Two fields cannot share a name.
  • Remove a field: hover the field and click its X. Click 'Undo' in the message to bring it back.
  • Remove sparse fields in one go: when some fields hold data on only a few rows, the panel shows 'Fields with data on only some rows'. Click 'Review', choose a threshold and click 'Remove N ticked fields'.

After you save a recipe, edit its field names by hand from 'My recipes': open the recipe, then 'Settings' and 'Fields'.
