Expanding list selection

Select all similar items on a page, even when they're grouped into separate sections.

When Simplescraper detects lists, it tries to be precise — which sometimes means it only selects items from one section of the page. For example, a jobs page might group listings by department (Engineering, Marketing, Design). Simplescraper may initially detect only one department's jobs.

If you want to scrape all items across all sections, use Include Similar to expand the selection.

How to expand a list selection

  1. Click Detect Lists as normal
  2. Check the item count — if it seems low, you may be missing items from other sections
  3. Click + include similar next to the list count
  4. Simplescraper will expand the selection to include all matching items on the page

The item count will update to reflect the full selection. To go back to the original selection, click — single list.

When to use this

  • Job boards with listings grouped by department or category
  • Product pages with items organized into sections
  • Any page where similar content is split into multiple groups
